ROZALI FERNANDO

Rozali received her primary education at Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya and was a founder member of Soul Sounds.She has completed her LLB and is presently reading for her LLM at the University of London. Being an Attorney-at-Law she works as a Senior Litigator specializing in corporate and commercial litigation in Sri Lanka’s oldest and leading Law Firm F J & G de Sarams. She is also a qualified piano music teacher and is an Associate and Licentiate of the Trinity College of Music and holder of the Diploma in Music of the London College of Music. She has been training students for piano music examinations for over nine years and is currently a part time piano music teacher at the Russian School of Music (Russian cultural Centre).

“As much as I would like to make a full time commitment to Soul Sounds I find myself constantly fighting for time due to the nature of my work and various other commitments. I am grateful to Soul Sounds for making an exception and allowing me to be a part of the team on a part-time basis. Returning to Soul Sounds after a prolonged break made me realise that nothing else can fill that void. The journey with Soul Sounds has not been easy but the experience, the memories, the friendships will not only last a lifetime but have taught me some of life’s greatest lessons, ‘to take one day at a time’ and to approach all challenges with a positive attitude. To be able to leave aside everything else and forget the day-to-day mental as well as the physical strain and be completely immersed in music even for a brief moment with a group of dynamic and fun loving individuals who share a common passion for music is truly a blessing.
