Nilanga Jayawickreme

A founder member of Soul Sounds, Nilanga is a past pupil of Holy Family Convent, Colombo 4 and began singing at the age of six, as part of the Merry Ann Singers. Subsequently she also began singing under the direction of Soundarie David Rodrigo, after joining the school choir at the age of ten.

She read for a BA Honours Degree in English and passed out as a graduate from the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK, from where she was awarded a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, and currently works in Public Relations in a leading Sri Lankan PR Agency.

Nilanga has toured with the choir on all international tours and competitions and considers Soul Sounds to be an extended family and therefore an integral part of her life.
