Kalani, started her musical journey at the age of 7. She has received formal training in western classical singing and piano from Trinity College, London, successfully completing the grade 8 examination. She also studied eastern classical singing at the Bhathkande School of Music in India, which  culminated in her earning the Visharada qualification in 2023.

She has completed the performer’s certificate in speech and drama at the Wendy Whatmore academy and Trinity college London:

A chance encounter led her to join the cast of My fair Lady, a production by the workshop players where she fell in love with musical theatre.

In her free time Kalani also operates as a freelance emcee and has completed short spells working for radio and print media.

A graduate of University of Sri Jayawardenapura , she is a doctor by profession and currently works at the Negombo District General Hospital.

Kalani joined souls sounds in 2020 and had the honour of  representing Sri Lanka as part of the gold medal -winning choir at the World choir games held in New Zealand in July 2024, an experience she would cherish all her life.

She is deeply grateful for all her music teachers for the training she received over the years and her friends and family for being her biggest cheerleaders.

She’s thrilled to be performing alongside the talented ladies of Soul Sounds, whose company and friendship she has grown to love!
